Photography Walk held by Photography Club
Photography walk is a method way to improve the photography skills and keep the motivation high. A photography walk is just a casual walk at a particular place with your camera taking photos to cover a particular theme during walk. Multani Mal Modi College organized a photography walk on 21-09-2019. A group of 25 students under the supervision of Dr. Sukhdev Singh participated in the walk. The walk was carried out at Nature Park Patiala around 8.00 am to 10.30 am. The Nature Park is situated in the heart of the city. The park stretches over a 2. 1 kms from Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib to Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. The main attraction of the park is the Patiala Navigation Channel that was once used by the Maharajas of Patiala to transport their goods. In these days the channel is used for irrigation in the park. Entire track is covered by trees on both sides of the channel which make the track suitable for walk even in the hot weather.
During the photography walk students got an opportunity to get closer to the nature. They captured landscapes, bird life, insect life, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes. Such photography tends to put a stronger emphasis on the aesthetic value of the photo. The students were carried a range of cameras which helped them to get exposure to handle them. The theme of the walk was to capture natural beauty and living organism in the park. The students were enthusiastically captured various photographs of flowers, trees, plants, insects and birds, in the park.
After completing the walk, the students met the college principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar and shared their experiences. He appreciates the work done by the students and motivates them to carry out such activities in future.
